Spinning, or indoor cycling began in the mid-1980's as a way for avid cyclists to train during the Winter months and at times of inclement weather. The main focus of the activity is to provide the exerciser with a relatively intense workout that incorporates a fitness instructor, musical rhythms and may include some choreography. Currently many fitness facilities offer an indoor cycling programs and the growth of this form of exercise is phenomenal. “Whether you are a competitive cyclist looking to improve your endurance and cycling technique, or an individual who prefers to train aerobically without adding stress to their joints”; indoor cycling is a unique and beneficial experience.
